Tasting Note

A fresh, bright and cool nose speaks of pretty red pinot fruit with soft earth nuances. There is excellent energy to the delicious and refreshing flavors that terminate in a lingering finish that flashes hints of rusticity and youthful austerity.

Brand Information

Montille

The Montille estate has been in Volnay since the middle of the 18th century. Today he operates a 20-hectare vineyard, mainly Premiers and Grands Crus, on the Côte de Beaune, but also in the Côte de Nuits and produces around 8,000 cases from 20 appellations. It was Hubert de Montille that wrote the most beautiful pages during the 20th century. The lawyer and his children did not stop giving scope to this field that had, over time, shrunk. It was also he who made it a world-renowned domain from the 1960s.

At a time when wines are standardized, this generation of winegrowers will establish great local wines. It is this love of a job well done that Hubert undoubtedly passed on to his children. Étienne first, then Alix. The brother and sister have taken control and perpetuate the values of the estate. He vinifies the Pinots Noir, while she takes care of the Chardonnays.
